![]() ![]() If you want to create a project or an individual article in a magazine or book, you can also start it on a left instead of a right page. You now see that each page has been assigned a page number in ascending order. Double-click a document page in the Pages window to return to the document view. ![]() You have completed all steps to display page numbers on each page of your project document. Then, select the master page prefix again and right-align it. Now drag out a duplicate of the text frame with the left mouse button clicked and position the frame on the right. Step 5: Adding page numbers on the right pagesĪfter you have adjusted and formatted the master page prefix, pick the Selection tool and hold the Alt key down. Otherwise, the master page number will not be carried forward to the other project pages. When formatting the page numbers, make sure that the master page prefix is not overwritten by another character or letter. In the example, we choose the Nexa Light font with a point size of ten pt. You can now format the “A” to your preferences. On a document page, it displays the page number. The “A” is a placeholder for the page number on a master page. If the automatic page number is on a master page, the text frame will display the master page prefix, “A” in this case. Now drag out a rectangular text frame across the entire page width of your canvas and in the top menu click Type > Insert Special Character > Markers > Current Page Number. To add the page numbers, first zoom in on the lower edge of the document on the left page and select the Type tool. When the facing pages option is enabled, you can still export each page individually later on. So I'm immensly grateful for any guidance. To print your project later on, it is not relevant whether you create your project with the single pages or facing pages view. I tend to play around with obscure or badly documented things, plus my ADHD+ brain will end up in a ditch when I can't figure anything out, for too long. I'm not a coder, I'd love to be but my attempts mostly fail without outside help. I'm ok with the script I have now, it suits my purpose, which is to speed up making shortlists for fonts when I'm working on something.īut if one of you has an easier time teasing this information out of the data that you've pointed to, I'd love either the info itself or some help on how to find it. So I went off to find the tags (if that's what they're called), and I've been through most of the pages mentioned above, searching for "font" and "type" but nothing clear came up. The ChatGPT Large Language Model struggles with finding or explaining these tags, and I struggle with the language to ask for it. I can't get these things into separate fields. I would love it if someone here could help me figure out how to call for these things: ![]()
